Hi! I'm Cate Kennedy, an illustrator based out of Atlanta, Georgia. I create illustrations for children's books, editorial work and more. My choice of medium changes between gouache, colored pencil, ink, and digital, but my art remains connected through texture and expressive quality.

After studying illustration and design, I found myself with 10+ years in the design industry. I presented to clients regularly and constantly balanced feedback, professionalism and good design. I was always amazed and happy to report that client feedback pushed the design to a better spot that I never would have reached all alone. I loved collaborating with my team and clients, but I always missed drawing, painting and telling stories through imagery. After having a kid of my own and feeling insane pangs of... envy? (nah, I'm sure it's something more noble) when I'd read to her, I made the jump to go full time freelance illustration.

A little more about me?
Likes: moss, mushrooms, trees, birds, cats (except when they eat the birds), overhearing people's conversations
Dislikes: when bananas have secret brown spots, and frankly a lot of other things, but if I write them all here I'll sound terrible
